The Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has lamented the death of the head of the Kano office of the commission, Hajiya Zeenat Kaltume Yahaya.
According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the commissioner, Sadiq Abdullateef, Hajiya Zeenat Kaltume Yahaya died Thursday night at the age of 48 and has since been buried according to Islamic tradition.
The statement reads: “It is with sublime submission to the will of God and a very heavy heart that we announce the passage of our colleague, Hajiya Zeenat Kaltume Yahaya.
“Until her demise, Zeenat was a devoted mother, wife and the head of Kano office of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
“Hajiya Zeenat died after a few hours illness in Kano last night at the age of 48 and she is survived by her husband, Alhaji Baba Musa Yahaya and two children, Hauwa Yahaya and Muhsin Yahaya.
“In her condolence message to the family, staff and management of the Commission, the Honourable Federal Commissioner, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim described the deceased as a hardworking and dedicated staff.
“ ‘I wish to commiserate with her family, the entire staff and management of the Commission on this loss. I pray the Almighty Allah to accept the soul of the departed and comfort those left to mourn her,’ she said.
“Hajiya Zeenat was buried according to islamic rites in Kano, Friday morning.”
