Odoh lauds Uchenna Inya on winning NMMA award

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi State in the 2023 general elections, Professor Benard Ifeanyi Odoh, has congratulated Ebonyi-born New Telegraph Newspaper reporter, Mr Uchenna Inya, on his award as the Most Innovative Reporter of the Year in Nigeria.

According to a statement on Monday, signed by Mr Charles Otu, the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Professor Odoh, Inya deserves to be celebrated as he has earned a name for himself in the journalism profession in Ebonyi State and beyond.

The statement reads: “I received with great cheers the news of the emergence of Ebonyi-born print media journalist, Mr. Uchenna Inya as the MOST INNOVATIVE REPORTER OF THE YEAR in Nigeria.

“The award which was conferred on him by the Board of trustees of the Nigerian Media Merit Award ceremony for the year 2022 held in Lagos over the weekend is not only very deserving but a worthy attestation of the diligence and innovative spirit of Ebonyians in every of their chosen fields of endeavour.

“This is despite the daunting challenges facing journalism practice particularly in Ebonyi State and the accompanying lack of support from government and other critical stakeholders.

“Defeating two of his colleagues; one from his stable and another from a different platform to clinch this award and emerging the second runner-up in the Print Journalist of the year category was a delightful reward for an excellent career year in journalism practice.

“I, on behalf of my entire campaign team therefore congratulate and share in the joy of this unique award as I encourage other journalists not only to emulate his good and dogged example but continue to impact the Ebonyi society despite numerous challenges.

“For it is only through investigative, innovative and creative journalism practice that the numerous social ills prevalent in our society today can be corrected.”Once again, accept my warmest congratulations for being a shining example.”
