Education minister says he’ll reposition sector, help Tinubu develop Nigeria

The new minister for education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has described the education sector as most critical to the overall development and advancement of the country if Nigeria should gain tremendously in the comity nations. 

He assured of his commitment to achieve the desired expectation as he begins his duty as the substantive minister for education.

Prof Mamman stated this, Monday, during a luncheon in his honour at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, which was organized by his Adamawa community, sponsored Alhaji Abdulrahman Buba Kwacham. 

President Bola Tinubu yesterday inaugurated 45 ministers to make up his Federal Executive Council.

Prof. Mamman thanked President Tinubu for finding him worthy to serve the country, describing the president as someone who is desirable to change the country for good and urged for support of Nigerians to the administration.

He said that the President has given them charge to do what is right, and vowed that the ministers are poised and determined to achieve success as has been tasked by President Tinubu.

He advocated for peace and unity as a panacea for any kind of development in the country, and asked God to continue to unite the country.    

In their goodwill messages, the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Boss Mustapha, and the Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), Buba Marwa described Prof Mamman as a gentleman and a committed Nigerian. 

They congratulated the Minister on his appointment, even as they called on the people of Adamawa, where the minister hails from, to continue to give him maximum support.

Earlier, the convener of the luncheon, Alhaji Abdulrahman Buba Kwacham, described the appointment of Prof Mamman as a plus to Adamawa state and the entire country, thanking President Tinubu for considering him as a minister.
